Terms of use
What Greenlight is
Greenlight is a venue operated by Online First (ABN held by Online First, Melbourne, Australia). It connects people who need content reviewed with people willing to review it. Online First does not produce the content under review and does not employ reviewers.
Accounts
One account per person, identified by email address. You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your API keys secret. Access to a project is by invitation from that project's owner.
Content
Content is referenced by URL and stays on infrastructure you control. Greenlight never fetches or stores it; a reviewer's browser loads it directly from your URL. Do not post content you lack the rights to distribute, and do not post material that is unlawful in Australia.
Reviewers and payment
Reviewers are independent contractors, not employees. A reviewer is paid the stated amount for every review they submit, whether the verdict is approve or reject, because a rejection is work performed. Amounts accrue in a ledger and are settled directly between the project owner and the reviewer, outside the platform. Greenlight records what is owed; it does not hold or transfer money.
Reviewers are responsible for their own tax obligations, including any GST and income reporting that applies to them.
Cancellation
A project owner may cancel a task before a review is submitted, including one currently claimed. No amount accrues for a cancelled task. Cancellations are recorded, so an owner can choose to settle a good-faith payment if a reviewer was mid-review.
Availability
Greenlight is provided as is, without a published service level. Online First may change or withdraw the service, and will give reasonable notice where practical.
